Marbelin was at risk of dropping out of school when she came to Little Steps. Her son was only 5 months old, and balancing a baby and school was difficult. Through encouragement and determination Marbelin will graduate from high school in June and will also have a certification as an esthetician. She plans to attend a local college and get her nail tech certification. Watching Marbelin grow and mature not only as a student, but also as a mother has been incredibly rewarding. We are so proud of her accomplishments and can’t wait to see her in her cap and gown!
“The most valuable thing I have learned during my time at Little Steps is that it doesn’t matter what your age, race, ability or disability is. No one is a “perfect parent,” there is no “perfect parent” we as parents fail at times but that’s not what matters, what matters is that we get up and try again, that’s how you succeed. You don’t succeed with the amount of money you have or how many cars you have or if you live in a better place then where you were at before, what matters is that you succeed in your happiness with your children knowing that you can and will do it even if there’s set backs, you continue and keep going, there’s no stopping.” – Marbelin
