Get Involved with Little Steps

There are numerous opportunities for you to get involved with Little Steps. Training is provided for all volunteer positions. Contact Jessica Horton at volunteer@littlestepssc.org for any questions you may have about volunteering with Little Steps.

Mentoring Mentors work one-on-one with the young parents of Little Steps. This is a high commitment volunteer opportunity. Training and ongoing supervision is provided. Baby Boutique The Little Steps’ Baby Boutique is an integral part of all of our programs. The Baby Boutique is where parents in our program spend the Baby Bucks they earn to purchase necessities such as diapers, wipes, and clothing. It takes the efforts of many volunteers on various levels of commitment to keep this stocked and functioning. Some of the tasks include: sorting donated items, inventory management, and making sure all necessary items stay stocked year round. Our Baby Boutique is filled by items donated from the community. Consider hosting a Baby Shower Drive for Little Steps with your friends, coworkers, or church group. Get creative! In the process, you are sure to be helping increase awareness of Little Steps. This can be a lot of fun and a great benefit to these young families. Child Care We always have a need for volunteers to assist with child care during our programs. These are usually 2–3 hour time slots. This can include anything from rocking our precious little newborns, to reading and playing with the energetic toddlers. Classes & Peer Groups You can work directly with our programs by becoming a class facilitator, peer group leader, or assistant in one of these areas. All programming is coordinated by our Executive Director, Mandy Black. She can be reached at mandy@littlestepssc.org or by phone at 864-243-8694. Mandy can also be contacted if you are interested in fundraising, special events, or internship opportunities.
Board of Directors Board meetings are held every other month, typically on the third Wednesday evening. An annual meeting is also held each January.
