Volunteer

Switch-a-RoosTakedown & Donations Sorting

February 5, 5:00–11:00 pm

Little Steps receives donated items from vendors at the Switch-a-Roos Consignment Sale. We need volunteers to help take down the donations, sort them, and deliver them. This is a great opportunity for students to gain community service hours.

Hospitality
Mon/Tues 5:30–7:00 pm

Set up for meals, greet meal donor and help them bring in food, serve food as needed, pack to-go boxes of leftovers and clean up for our weekly classes.

All volunteers MUST complete an application and background check before volunteering in hospitality.

Meals

Make, purchase, or solicit meals for our weekly classes for 35 people. Delivery of food, drinks, plates, and plasticware are needed for each class. Donating a meal is a great way for small groups to help out!

Child Care
Mon/Tues 5:45–8:15 pm

Play and read to toddlers and rock babies while their parents attend class at Little Steps.

All volunteers MUST complete an application and background check before volunteering in child care. Students ages 16 and up may volunteer in child care. Students ages 12–15 may volunteer in childcare with an accompanying adult, maximum 2 students per adult.

Front Office
Mondays 12:00–8:00 pm
Tuesdays 3:00–8:00 pm

Assist in our office during business hours. Duties can include: data entry, light cleaning, answering/returning phone calls, logging-in and sorting donations, and assisting with other tasks as needed.

Baby Boutique

Solicit donations to keep the Baby Boutique stocked; sort donations; pick-up donations; and distribute items where they are needed most. Email Renee Street at renee@littlestepssc.org to volunteer.

Fund Raising
Organize and implement fund raisers to help support Little Steps. Current fund raising events include: car shows, yard sales, and a yearly golf tournament. Fresh ideas and enthusiastic volunteers are always welcome.
